The purportedly true story of Oscar Grant III, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident, who crosses paths with friends, enemies, family, and strangers on the last day of 2008.
The movie is intimist. We follow Oscar through his last day of the year. You watch him walk into his cruel destiny, you can’t stop it, you can’t change it and you sure as hell can’t stop watching it.
No suspense doesn’t mean no point. The more Oscar gets closer to Fruitvale Station, the highest the tension is. You are caught in it, you reach the climax at the station, stay there for a couple of minutes, then go slowly back down as the realisator show us what happens to the real protagonists.
